Jyotish is one of the limbs of the Vedas called Vedangs, meaning limbs of the Veda. There are six Vedangs:
1. Shiksha (Phonetics and Pronunciation)
2. Vyakarana (Grammar)
3. Chhandas (Meter)
4. Nirukta (Etymology)
5. Jyotisha (Astronomy and Astrology)
6. Kalpa (Rituals)
Jyotish has three parts: Ganit (Mathematics), Phalit (Predictive), and Hora.
Jyotisha is used to calculate favorable times for Vedic rituals, determine festival dates, and analyze celestial influences. It plays a key role in astrology, helping individuals understand their personality and life events.
Kundali is a birth chart used in Vedic astrology to analyze a person’s life path. It consists of elements like Lagna (ascendant), Rashi (zodiac sign), Nakshatra (constellation), and planetary influences.
